Hello and Welcome

I’m Dr. Ursula Froschauer a Counselling Psychologist.

Ever since I can remember I’ve been interested in people, their stories, their struggles and the resilience they show in trying to live more authentic and fulfilling lives. I feel deeply privileged to walk alongside individuals and couples as they heal, grow and (re)connect.

I acknowledge the courage it takes for people to reach out and start therapy. Therapy is not always easy, but it can be so rewarding. I aim to offer a supportive and non-judgmental space to help you navigate the challenges you are facing.

I provide sessions online, which makes therapy accessible, flexible and private, especially for individuals and couples who lead busy lives.

My Expertise

Relationships

Healthy relationships are foundational to emotional well-being. Romantic relationships, family relationships and friendships can offer support and connection. These relationships can also be challenging. Therapy can help you and your partner improve communication, set boundaries, resolve conflicts and deepen your emotional intimacy in meaningful ways.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy

Gottman Method Couples Therapy is an evidence-based approach developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. The approach is designed to help you strengthen your relationship through improved communication, conflict resolution and emotional connection. Gottman Method Couples Therapy is grounded in over four decades of research and emphasises trust, commitment and shared meaning in a relationship. The interventions aim to help you and your partner deepen your friendship, manage conflict constructively, create shared goals and encourage intimacy.

Co-dependency

Co-dependency is a pattern of behaviour in which you prioritise the needs, emotions or problems of others at the expense of your own well-being. Co-dependency is often rooted in early relational experiences. It can lead to difficulty setting boundaries, low self-esteem and an excessive sense of responsibility for others. In therapy, we work to identify these patterns, build healthier relationships, and foster a stronger sense of self.

Intuitive Eating

Intuitive Eating is a non-diet approach that encourages you to listen to your body’s hunger and fullness cues, make peace with food and reject diet culture. It promotes a healthy relationship with food and your body by emphasizing self-compassion, body respect and mindful eating. This approach can be especially helpful if you are struggling with disordered eating patterns, such as binge eating and restricting, or chronic dieting.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness and without judgment. It can reduce stress, enhance self-awareness and improve emotional regulation. Incorporating mindfulness into therapy helps you become more grounded, manage difficult thoughts and feelings and cultivate a greater sense of calm and clarity. Recognising that your mind will wander during mindfulness practices is helpful in cultivating self-compassion.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes persistent or overwhelming, it can interfere with your daily functioning. It often involves excessive worry, restlessness, difficulty concentrating and physical symptoms such as a rapid heartbeat or muscle tension. Therapy can help you understand the root causes of your anxiety, develop healthier coping strategies and regain a sense of control.

Depression

Depression is more than just feeling sad. It is a complex mood disorder that can affect how you think, feel and behave. Common symptoms include persistent low mood, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, fatigue and changes in sleep or appetite. With evidence-based therapeutic support you can find relief from depression to have a greater sense of meaning and purpose in your life.

Grief & Loss

Grief is a natural response to losing someone or something significant. Sadness, anger, confusion and relief may accompany grief. It can look different for different people. Therapy provides a compassionate space for you to process loss, honour what was lost and continue forward while integrating the experience into your life.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

– Carl Jung
